Obituary for Duerksen

Elmer W. Duerksen, age 89, passed away Sunday, March 28, 1999, at his residence in Santa Fe. A lifelong resident of New Mexico, Mr. Duerksen homesteaded in El Morra in 1933 and also lived in Albuquerque, Tijeras, Las Cruces and Santa Fe. Mr. Duerksen served the medical community of New Mexico from 1933 until his retirement in 1972 from BCMC University Hospital. He continued to be active in medical work until 1995. Mr. Duerksen is survived by his wife, Bernice of Santa Fe; sons, David Duerksen of Tijeras and Charles E. Duerksen of Albuquerque; daughters, Elinor Tribble of Santa Fe, and Juanita Renaga of Albuquerque; step-daughter, Dawn Collins of Tijeras; brother, Victor Duerksen of Midpines, California. Memorial services will be held Sunday, April 4, 1999, 1:00 p.m., at Seventh Day Adventist Church, located on Rabbit Road. Arrangements are through McGee Memorial Chapel Mortuary.
