Obituary for Winters

Sgt. William Paul Winter, 77, a resident of Albuquerque sine 1948, died Sunday, March 28, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Nymfa Winters of the family home; sons, Danny Winters and wife, April, Kenneth Winters, all of Albuquerque, Scott Winters of Ohio, and William Winters of Albuquerque; and grandchildren, Jamie Winters of Oklahoma, Alyssa Winters, and Kayla Winters of Albuquerque. Sgt. Winters was a veteran of the US Army, having served during WWII. He was present at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked, for which he was awarded the Purple Heart. Sgt. Winters was a member of The Veteran's of Foreign Wars, George O. Breece Post 401, The Disabled American Veterans, the Academy of Model Aeronautics, and Albuquerque Radio Control Club. He built model planes as a hobby and he enjoyed spending hours flying them. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, March 31, 1999, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 12:00 noon at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, with The Rev. Sandra S. Bess officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be his sons. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Wednesday, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
