Obituary for Otero

David E. Otero, 44, of Las Cruces and formerly of Albuquerque entered eternal life Tuesday, March 23, 1999 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born August 5, 1954 in Corona, New Mexico to Guadalupe H. and Priscilla Esquivel Otero. Mr. Otero served his country honorably in the United States Army and retired from the City of Albuquerque Aviation Department. He was a member of the catholic church. Survivors include one daughter, Bianca W. Otero of Albuquerque; one brother, Andres Otero of Huntsville, Texas; his companion and fiancee, Elsa Frietze of Las Cruces; his close friend, Tomm E. Kailey of Albuquerque. Other survivors include numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Carlos E. Otero; one uncle, Benny J. Esquivel; his maternal grandparents, Seferino and Magdalena Esqivel; his paternal grandparents, Manuel and Manuelita Otero. Calling hours for Mr. Otero will be Thursday, March 25, 1999 beginning at 5:00 p.m. in Baca's Funeral Chapels (West) where the recitation of the Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated Friday, March 26, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Purification Catholic Church, 5525 Cristo Rey in Dona Ana with Reverend Antonio Martinez officiating. The rite of committal and interment will follow in Dona Ana Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be the Dona Ana County Sheriff's Department Honor Guard. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels, 300 E. Boutz Road, Las Cruces. 527-2222
