Raymond Britton Hopwood, age 78, a resident here, died Monday in a local shelter care. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Nell Hopwood. Mr. Hopwood is survived by his daughter, Linda Ann Walker and husband, George A. Walker of Albuquerque; brothers, Roy Neil Hopwood of Los Alamos, and Billy Hopwood of Silver City; sisters, Ruby Mae Ware of Memphis, TN, Corena Gref and Euleta Hargres, both of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Austin Lee Walker and wife, Margaret Stephanie, and Laura Ann Walker, both of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Austin Lee Walker, Jr. and Evan Casey Walker, both of Point Reyes Station, CA. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 1999 at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in Fern Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Interment will follow in Sandia Memory Gardens. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, in charge of arrangements.
