Obituary for Stapleton

Roberta E. Stapleton, 73, a resident of Albuquerque since 1962, died Friday, April 23, 1999. She is survived by her sons, Donald, Jon, Daniel, Joseph and Leon Visnaw; daughters, Bridget, Penny and Pansy; grandchildren, Jessica, Shaunteill, Raeshaun, Michael and Joseph; great granddaughters, Justina, Breanah and Dominique; brothers, Fred Fowler and wife, Juna of Riverside, CA and John Fowler and wife, Florence of Royal Oak, MI; and sister, Elanor Frye and husband, James of Ormand Beach, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, John M. (Jack) Stapleton, her son, Michael and her parents. Mrs. Stapleton was born in Detroit, MI on July 30, 1925 to Roberta and Fred Fowler. Roberta was the most giving mother to her nine children and provided a loving home to over 60 foster children. She and her husband, John, also owned a small family business, Stapleton's Nursery and Floral, for 20 years. Rosary will be recited Monday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at Church of the Ascension, 2150 Raymac Road SW, with Fr. Anthony Bolman, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Pajarito Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald, Jon, Joe, Daniel, Raeshaun and Michael. French Mortuary, 1111 University NE.
