Obituary for Caskey

Jan Zachary Caskey, 37, a resident of Albuquerque for 25 years, died Tuesday, April 20, 1999. He is survived by his wife of nine years, Terry L. Caskey of Albuquerque; sons, Lee James Bossard-Caskey and Chase Conner Caskey; parents, Avak and Ruth Akgulian of Albuquerque; aunts, Sylvia Kaloustian and husband, Kirk of Newton, MA and Esther Goureghian of Clinton, MA; mother-in-law, Jo Alvino of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law, Jynn Ehler and husband, Norm of Albuquerque and Giovanna Alvino and Tonino; nephew, Antonio Alvino all of Columbia, SC; cousins, Carla Portelli and husband, Charles of Somerville, MA, Kirk Kaloustian and Lee Kaloustian, both of Newton, MA, and Alec Portelli of Somerville, MA. Mr. Caskey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Zakar and Mary Goureghian who were a very important part of his life. He was President of the Armenian Cultural Association and a Deacon of the Armenian Church of Albuquerque. Mr. Caskey was a member of the Downtown Action Team. He consistently inspired and helped the Transitional Living Community Program. Mr. Caskey was also involved with the Make a Wish Foundation and various other charities. He coached the Taylor Ranch Timberwolves Soccer Team and YMCA Basketball Cougars. Mr. Caskey was a successful Commercial and Residential Real Estate Broker with RECA Better Homes and Garden with his partner in life and in work, Terry Caskey. Prior to being a Realtor, Mr. Caskey enjoyed a successful career in the auto sales industry. Memorial services will be held Friday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Services will be held Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at St. Mark's on the Mesa, 431 Richmond Pl. NE, with Father Samuel Agoyian officiating. Pallbearers will e Lee James Bossard-Caskey, Chase Conner Caskey, Kirk Kaloustian, Bernard Pages, Scott Fitzgerald, Davz Wakeman, Norm Ehler, Anthony J. Ayala and Brian Saal.
