Obituary for Walstrom

John E. Walstrom, age 40, a former resident of Albuquerque who resided in Van Nuys, CA, died April 12, 1999 of a massive heart attack. He is survived by his wife, Lori; step-sons, Brian and Danny Vilarino of Van Nuys, Jeremy and Nicholas of Tucson, AZ; son, Joseph and daughter, Desiree of Van Nuys; mother, Barbara and husband, Roscoe Champion of Albuquerque; father, Charles R. Walstrom of Los Lunas; sister, Stephanie and husband, Anthony Williams of Los Lunas; brothers, Charles R. Walstrom and wife, Cheryl of Rio Rancho, Tom Walstrom and wife, Suzanne; several nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. John was a native New Mexican and graduated from Manzano High School. After three years in the Army, he remained active with the National Guard for 11 years. He was a heavy equipment operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers for 11 years. John was active as a Boy Scout in his youth and continued to serve in this program. He loved helping people. Viewing will be Monday, April 19, 1999, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Pierce Brothers Praise Water Mortuary in Canoga Park, CA. A full military service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on April 20, 1999 at the mortuary with interment at the Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth, CA.
