Obituary for Kirchgessner

Lorene S. (Kay) Kirchgessner, born October 29, 1910 in Indiana, died at an Albuquerque nursing home on April 12, 1999, after ten years of invalidism. Her spirit is now with the Lord. Alleluia. She taught music and art in and around Evansville, Indiana for more than 40 years and later moved to Albuquerque in 1986. She was a loving mother and an accomplished genealogist. She always loved her church and was a member of St. Marks on the Mesa Episcopal Church in Albuquerque. Her husband, James F. Kirchgessner, died in 1945; and her son, James Clay Kirchgessner, in 1997. She is survived by her son, Thomas L. Kirchgessner; grandchildren, Thomas W. and David L. Kirchgessner and Laura Proctor; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Kirchgessner; and two great-grandchildren, all of Albuquerque. She is also survived by grandchildren, Brian and Jim Kirchgessner; two great-grandchildren; and beloved cousin, Leah McMasters, all of Evansville, IN. Also surviving her, at various locations, are her brother's sons, Bill, Phil and Ralph Spradley. Her memorial service will be conducted at St. Marks on the Mesa Episcopal Church at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 1999. Arrangements by Direct Services, 2919 4th St. NW, 343-8008.
