Arlene Swanson Furby, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died Wednesday, May 5, 1999. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert E. Furby of Albuquerque; daughter, Kathryn Furby Kortkamp and husband, Karl R. Kortkamp of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Katie, Kerry and Kevin; sister, Mrs. Marjorie Odle of Bern, IN; sister-in-law, Mrs. Cordelah Swanson of Linthicum Heights, MD; niece, Judy Altman of Glen Burnie, MD; and nephews, Richard Odle of Plymouth, MN and Scott Odle of Indianapolis, IN. Mrs. Furby was a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1954. She taught Sunday School for a number of years. Mrs. Furby was a member of Presbyterian Health Care Volunteers for 28 years, she volunteered 4775 hours. She was a longtime member of the Los Altos Ladies Golf Association and was an avid bowler. Cremation has taken place and graveside services and interment of cremains will take place Saturday, 11:00 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Rev. C. Richard Brown, officiating.
