Obituary for Weaver

Wayne Francis Weaver, born December 13, 1927 in Larned, KS, died December 30, 1998 in Albuquerque of cancer. After growing up in Kansas, he served with the rank of Corporal in the United States Army, Quarter Master Corps from 1950 to 1953 and was posted in Goeppingen, Germany. He was a life member of VFW Post 6492 in Seibert, CO. He raised his family in the Trinidad, CO area and taught many years at Trinidad State Junior College. Most recently he managed a small business in Albuquerque and retired this October to Seibert, CO. He is survived by Mary Weaver; and their children, Sam and April Weaver, Jon Weaver, Laurie and Randy Hancock, Jason and Jeneane Weaver, Aron Weaver; and 11 grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Velma and Al Getty, Don and Verda Weaver, Tom Weaver, Margaret and Ken Potter, Dallas Weaver; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, William B. and Mathilda Weaver; his brother, LaVerne Weaver; his sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Larry Leoffler; an infant sister; and a son, Lucas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 2, 1999 at the Community Church in Seibert, CO. Contributions in Wayne's name to VFW Post 649 in Seibert, CO or the American Cancer Society are welcome.
