Laura A. Smithart, 76, "God said it - I believe it - That settles it." passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2003. Laura was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend, mentor, and woman of unfathomable faith. Laura's many accomplishments room mother, 4-H leader, member of Ponderosa extension service, served on the Economic Development Board in Tijeras, NM, a quilter and doll craftswoman and devoted member of Mountainside Methodist and Crossroads Church of the Nazerene. She was preceded in death by her father, John David Henderson; sister, Faye Rene Henderson; her first husband , Henry C. Black; and second husband, Bobby A. Smithart. She is survived by her mother, Helen Faye Henderson, her brother, John Jerry Henderson; her son, James Paul Black and his wife, Pamela K. McCoy of Cedar Crest NM, and daughters Dana Faye Dawson and husband, James C. Dawson, of Edgewood NM, and Sally Ann Martin her husband, David L. Martin of Sandia Park NM, and Bobby's children, Lindley B. Smithart of Portland OR; daughter, Deborah Craig and husband, David of Albuquerque; daughter, Michelle McGraw and husband, Clarence of Lewisville TX; daughter, Theresa S. LaVerne of, KS; son-in-law, Michael Stoker of Los Lunas, NM; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2003 at the Crossroads Church of the Nazarene, 1200 Columbia, Moriarty, NM 87035. Laura's remains will be interred with her late husband, B. A. Smithart at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
