Obituary for Lewis

Vernon D. Lewis, 71, a resident of Belen, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2000. Vernon moved to New Mexico from Minnesota in 1959. He was a machinist since 1960 and later retired in 1993. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Albuquerque."Dear dad, now that I know all of your pain is gone, you will always be in my heart and thoughts. I will always love and cherish the memories we had. You and mom raised me to be me, and to be there if anyone ever needed me. Thank you. Love always and forever. Terri.""Dear grandpa, may you always walk in the sunshine with your grandpa, and enjoy the happiness you deserve. When you left us, you left a little piece of you in both of us. We'll both always love and miss you. Greg and Stephanie." Vernon is preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years, Marjorie M. Lewis in August, 2000, his parents, Edward and Jessie Lewis, and his sister, LaVerale Jarrell. Vernon is survived by his daughter, Terri L. Lock of the family home in Belen; two grandchildren, Gregory and Stephanie Lock of Belen; and one brother, Les lewis of Minnesota. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends whom he loved and whom loved him. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 8, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at the Romero Funeral Home chapel in Belen.
