Mattie F. West, 78, born December 21, 1921 passed away Sunday, October 15, 2000 following a brief illness. She was a resident of Albuquerque, NM until February of 2000 when she went to live with her sister in Sacramento, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nancy Brown and Gus Clayton; her husband, L.C. West; her brother, Marvin Whittaker; her daughter, Vera Jernigan; and her beloved Tiny. She leaves behind to celebrate life, her son and daughter in-law, Tony and Gina Overton, and her brother, Billie McCane all of Albuquerque, NM; and her sisters, Jean Adair of Sacramento, CA, and Ruth Hicks of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; a host of nieces and nephews; and an abundance of close friends; and her beloved Lucky. Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 am on October 27, 2000 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7500 Paseo Del Norte NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113. Mattie will be with us all forever through the special blessings she brought to each and everyone of us. .DMP
