Obituary for Man

Martha Lou Man, age 69, died October 19, 2000 after a courageous two year journey surviving ovarian cancer. Born in Wichita Falls, TX, graduated from Southern Methodist University, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma; held position of manager for both the Wichita Falls Civic Play House and then the Abilene Symphony; was Religion Editor of the Dallas Times Herald. Prior to moving to Albuquerque in 1982, was News Director for United Methodist Church's Communication Agency; she took early retirement as Real Estate Editor of the Albuquerque Journal and established her own editing/writing consulting business, MMEnterprises, in which she remained active until two weeks ago. She was active in numerous community agencies concerned with affordable housing. Survivors include her special friend, Barbara Chase; sister, Marilyn Cox and husband, Bud of Ozona, TX; niece, Lynn Cox Evans and husband, Jay of Wichita Falls, TX; nephew, George Cox and wife, Jackie Bob of Del Rio, TX; niece, Lou Cox Chapman and husband, Clay of Ozona, TX; grandnieces, Leesa Marshall, Kelsey Cox and Jamie Evans; grandnephews, Jed Evans and Lynne Haire; and great-grandnieces, Jadi and Juli Marshall; and great-grandnephew, Kristofer Haire. Service of Celebration will be Monday, October 23, 10:00 a.m., at the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church, 1004 24th St., Rio Rancho. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity or Storehouse, West in Rio Rancho.
