Obituary for Lacour

Mr. Manuel LaCour Sr., 91, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his loving family on October 18, 2000, after a brief illness. He was born September 9, 1909 to Eugenia Rose and Elois LaCour in Isle Brevelle, Natchez LA. In 1932, Mr. LaCour met and married Annie Daniels, who preceded him. He is survived by their sons, Arnold Lacour Sr. and wife, Jean of San Antonio, TX, Manuel LaCour Jr. and wife, Ora Mae of Farmington, NM, John Chris LaCour Sr. and wife, Audrey of Albuquerque. In 1949, Mr. LaCour moved to NM, where he met and married Rachel Garcia of Martinez Town, who survives him along with their children, Elwar R. (Pete) LaCour Sr. and wife, Barbara, SuzAnne R. Padilla and husband, John, Joseph C. LaCour and wife, Elizabeth, Judy L. Aranda-LaCour, James A. LaCour and wife, Diana, all of Albuquerque. Mr. LaCour leaves behind 29 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; brothers, Willie LaCour Sr. and Emile LaCour of Albuquerque; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. LaCour was a member of the Catholic Church. Visitation will be Friday evening after 6:30 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon J.O. Luna. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday morning, 10:00 a.m., at St. Edwins Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona Rd. SW, with visitation at the church after 9:30 a.m., Father Hernandez, Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Eric LaCour, Vincente LaCour, Ruben LaCour Jr., Martin Aranda Jr., James LaCour Jr., John Chris LaCour Jr. and Tony Sers, his close friend and nephew; honorary will be all his grandchildren. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, in charge of the arrangements.
