Obituary for Reeves

Lloyd Delmer Reeves died on January 16, 2000 in Albuquerque. He was born in Hermleigh, TX and was a Veteran of the US Air Force. Mr. Reeves was a dreamer, a fighter, a teacher, and a success at all he attempted. He left us soaring. He is survived by his wife, Lois; step-mother, Ruby Reeves of Snyder, TX; children, Lloyd Wayne Reeves and wife, Lee of Tijeras, NM, Jim Reeves and wife, Beth of Abilene, TX, Clarissa Wakefield and husband, Dick of Lakewood, CO, and Caren Cocchiola and husband, Mike of Rio Rancho. He is also survived by sisters, Barbara Hilchey of Longview, TX and Willie Mae Vaughan of Carthage, TX; a brother, Kenneth Reeves of Abilene, TX; ten grandchildren, Eva, Kale, and Troy Reeves, Savanna and Zia Reeves, Audrey and Bob Wakefield, Josh, Isaac and Emily Cocchiola; and many loving nieces and nephews. Services were held at 12:00 noon, January 19, at Chapel of Sandia Funeral Care with Kevin Owen of Montgomery Church of Christ officiating. Burial was at 2:30 p.m. in the National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Pallbearers were Wayne Reeves, Jim Reeves, Dick Wakefield, Mike Cocchiola, Bob Wakefield and Josh Cocchiola. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Wier, George Applebay, Richard Valentine, Jim Miller, and Ed Burnett of the Albuquerque Soaring Club. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Albuquerque Christian Children's Home, 5700 Winter Haven Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120.
