Obituary for Edwards

Charles H."Dobie" Edwards, age 76, a resident of Edgewood, died February 22, 2000. He is survived by his daughters, Edith E. Seaton of Albuquerque and Lynne Cox of Tijeras; son, Robert W. Edwards of Lewisville, TX; sister, Maryann Elkins of Snow Flake, AZ; brothers, Harold, Grover, Richard and Bronie Edwards; and five grandchildren. Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his wife, Lois E. Edwards, who died May 18, 1991. He served his country with the U.S. Navy in WWII. Mr. Edwards was involved in Estancia Lodge #33 AM & AM, Scottish Rite, Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple,"The Patrol","Loco Patrol","Directors Staff", Oso Negro Teocali #44, Order of Quetzalcoatl, Initiated"Coate", 4-16-96, Albuquerque,"Artisan" 10-11-96, Reno, NV,"Master Artisan" 10-11-96, Reno, NV, a retired truck driver, he also owned"Dobie's Back Hoe Service." A Memorial service will be held Friday, February 25, 2000, 10:00 a.m., at the Good News Baptist Church, 5812 Signal Ave., with Minister D. Stanley Blake officiating. A Memorial service will be held at Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple, 6600 Zuni SE on Friday, February 25, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception following. Interment will take place at 4:00 p.m. in Sandia Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Transportation Fund c/o Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple, 6600 Zuni SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, in charge of arrangements.
