Matthew Lee Murphy, 25, died on Monday, September 11, 2000. Matthew is survived by his mother, Linda A. Murphy of Albuquerque; father, Tim Murphy of Mountainaire; sisters, Mandy Murphy, Mary Murphy of Albuquerque and Glenda Murphy of Edgewood; grandmother, Lucille Stewart of Albuquerque. Matthew was born and raised in Albuquerque, then entered in the US Air Force in 1993. He was currently a Staff Sgt. Stationed in Tucson, AZ. During his Air Force career Mathew received several awards such as; Airman of the Quarter, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon, NCO Professional Military Education Graduation Ribbon, and Air Force Training Ribbon. Services will be held on Monday, September 18, 2000, 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE with Chaplain Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven.
