Obituary for Smith

Sarah"Helen" Smith, 89, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away early Thursday morning, September 7, 2000, at Presbyterian Hospital. She is survived by one brother, A.W. Smith of Santa Rosa; numerous nieces and nephews; and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn; two sisters, Fanny Guy and Faye Hamilton; and two brothers, Earl and Joe M. Smith II. She will be missed by all. Helen was born to Joseph M. and Athena Smith on January 12, 1911, in Guadalupe County, NM. She attended school in Guadalupe County and graduated from Santa Rosa High School. Helen and her husband, Lynn Smith, cultivated and established Clines Corners Restaurant and Service Station. Pre-deceased by her husband Lynn, Helen became an entrepreneur and enjoyed a seasonal home in Santa Barbara, CA, where she had many friends. In the latter part of her life, she returned to Albuquerque and retired where she abided for the rest of her life. Services will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper NE, with Dr. Charles Crutchfield officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Sunday, 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
