Melrose S. McCarty, resident of Albuquerque for the past six years, passed away September 1, 2000. She was born in Walnut Grove, Mississippi, May 8, 1910. When she was around ten years old her family moved to Berino, NM. She attended Las Cruces High School and Montezuma Baptist School. She formerly was a resident of Graham, Texas. She loved cooking, gardening, fishing, kids, dogs, cats, and church activities. She is survived by her daughter, Anne E. Rowe of Albuquerque; her grandson, Duncan Duwane Philp of Ft. Collins, CO; sister, Earnestine Baumann of El Paso, TX; and her brother, Hubert M. Savelle of El Paso, TX. A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
