Maria Benyak, 79, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, September 3, 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Marie Benyak of Albuquerque; sons, Daniel Benyak and wife, Susan of Seattle, WA and David Benyak of Albuquerque; grandsons, Neal and Joseph Benyak, both of Seattle, WA; sisters, Anne Leighton of Hollywood, FL and Margaret Dresser of Miami, FL; brother, George Dankanich of Boynton Beach, FL; niece, Hope Blair and husband, David; and nephew, Gary Cooper and wife, Toshi. Mrs. Benyak was preceded in death by her husband, Michael"Ben" Benyak. Memorial mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 811 Guaymas Pl. NE, with Father Luis Jaramillo, Celebrant and Deacon Rue White assisting. Interment of cremains will take place at 1:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
