Kenneth M. Owens, 48, a resident of Rio Rancho for three years, was taken into the loving arms of God, August 25, 2000. He is survived by parents, Barbara and Gene; brother, Allen; and cherished son, Matthew. He loved hot air ballooning and was active in AAAA and Top Gun. He was an enthusiastic, safety conscious crew member, and was working towards becoming a pilot. He touched our lives with his smile, friendliness, wild shirts and hats. I will especially miss him; he was the crew chief for my balloon"Starwalker", and a friend whom I loved and cherished. He has his wings now. A memorial balloon flight and service will be held at 6:00 a.m., September 9, 2000 at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Park, conducted by Pastor Mick Erickson of Our Savior Lutheran Church.
