Ruth V. Mahoney entered into rest on August 25, 2000 at her home in Palo Alto, California. She was 97. A native of West Virginia, Ruth worked for the Stanford University Press for nearly 20 years. She is survived by a niece, Joyce Topfler of San Jose, CA; grandchildren, Rick Lapado of Hillsborough, CA, Bob Lapado of Albuquerque, John Lapado of Chico, CA, Teri Lapado of Corvalis, OR, Pam Pembroke of Paradise, CA, and Gary Lapado of Milwaukie, OR; great-grandchildren, Antoinette Romero of Gilroy, CA, Rick Lapado of San Jose, CA, Tony Romero of Hayward, CA, Alicia and Angela Lapado of Albuquerque, Jonna Faith of Chico, CA, Travis, Alia, Cody and Elijah Espy of Chico, CA, Dillon Lapado of Milwaukie, OR, Cherelle Martinez of Carmichael, CA, Tara and Lindsay Pembroke of Paradise, CA; great-great-grandchildren, RJ and Sean Velazquez of Gilroy, CA, Michelle Stutchman of San Jose, CA, Nicholas and Sirgio Martinez of Carmichael, CA, Brittany, Ashley, Celia and Bruce Espy of Corning, CA.
