Obituary for Knop

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Tuesday September 05, 2000

Janet Wilson Knop, a resident of Albuquerque for 37 years, went to the Lord, August 15, 2000, after a long battle with lung disease. Janet was born November 11, 1934 in Raleigh, NC. She was the beloved daughter of Roy Emmett Wilson and Della Agnes Wilson. Janet is survived by her two sons, Rick and Jim Knop. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister; and brother. Janet never met a stranger, and could and would talk to anyone around her. She showed great strength and courage throughout her life, especially in the raising of her two sons as a single mother. She will be greatly missed by her sons, and by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2000, 5:00 p.m., at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. We know, Mom, that you are at peace with the Lord and one day we will all be together again. Rest in peace, your loving sons. Strong-Thorne Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
