Obituary for Koskey

Janice E. (Jan) Koskey, beloved wife and mother, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 1, 2000, while in the presence of God and her husband, Dr. Gene Koskey. After almost five years, her courageous battle with ovarian cancer was over. Janice was born in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin on April 10, 1937. She grew up in her place of birth and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She served as a speech and hearing therapist in Grand Rapids, Michigan; Bloomington, Indiana; and Brown Deer, Wisconsin public schools. Jan was a member and officer in Women Aglow International from 1978 to 1998, she was the first Aglow International State Prayer Coordinator for New Mexico and West Texas in which capacity she conducted various prayer functions and conferences all over New Mexico. In 1996, Jan and a companion drove the borders of the state, praying for the state and its gate cities. She was a powerful intercessor and prayer warrior for Jesus Christ. Her ministry touched countless lives in the State, the Nation, and the world. In 1999, Jan developed the UPPER ROOM World Prayer Center housed at Church on the Rock of Albuquerque. The UPPER ROOM is a multi-church intercessory prayer group whose members currently represent over 25 different churches in Albuquerque. Janice is survived by her husband, Dr. B. Eugene Koskey; and three children, Allyson Underwood and husband, Brian of Yorba Linda, CA, Brenda Koskey of El Segundo, CA and Christopher Koskey of Portland, OR. Other survivors are her mother, Gertrude Berg of Seminole, FL; her sister, Carol Wood and husband, Bill of Seminole, FL; her niece, Beth Marino, husband, George, and son, Tyler of Pulaski, VA; and her sister-in-law, Lois DuPont of Glendale, CA. A Memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Church of the Rock, 5300 Second Street NW, on Sunday, April 9, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in her memory to the UPPER ROOM at Church on the Rock.
