Obituary for Vasquez

Lucy Vasquez, 80, a resident of Albuquerque for 48 years, died Thursday, March 30, 2000. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merced Vasquez; and grandson, Patrick Gurule. Mrs. Vasquez is survived by her children, Carmen Pacheo and husband, Alfonzo of Albuquerque, Mercedes V. Gallegos of Denver, CO, Sophia Gurule and husband, Louis, George A. Vasquez and former spouse, Martha, all of Albuquerque, Mario J. Vasquez and wife, Margene of St. Louis, MO, Fernando Vasquez and wife, Diana, Roberto A. Vasquez and fiancee, Linda Sue, Anna T. Vasquez, and Olga Ortiz and husband, Richard, all of Albuquerque; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margarita Rosendiz, and Teresa Tamarin and husband, Ernesto, all of Mexico; and brothers, Augustin Resendiz, Jesus Resendiz and Father Juaquin Resendiz, all of Mexico. Grandma Vasquez cared for many children over the years. Rosary will be recited Monday, 6:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 412 Stover SW, with Deacon Tom Perez reciting. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father James Moore, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Vasquez's grandchildren. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Sunday, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The family would like to give special thanks to all Presbyterian Hospital staff who took care of Mrs. Vasquez.
