Obituary for Shepherd

Woodrow Wilson Shepherd,"Woody", who had lived in Albuquerque, NM for the past two years, died May 24, 2000. He was 87 years old. He is survived by his son, Max Shepherd, an attorney, and his grandson, Alexis Kolchevsky-Shepherd, a student at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Lula Inez Shepherd, who died April 17, 2000; by his seven brothers and sisters: Robert Shepherd, Basil Shepherd, Champ Shepherd, Jessee Conley, Bernice Jarshwitch, Josephine Bohling, and Pearl Guthery; and by a cousin, Eugene Shepherd, and a nephew, Clark Wayne Shepherd. Woody was born in La Monte Mo. February 13, 1913 to Perry and Valeria Shepherd, but grew up in Sedalia, MO. He and Inez were married June 30, 1935, and then moved to Kansas City, MO where they remained until they both retired. After retiring Woody and Inez returned to Sedalia. Woody was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sedalia. Woody will be remembered as a generous and loving husband, and father, a great neighbor, and a terrific gardener. There will be a Graveside Service at the Crown Hills Cemetery in Sedalia, MO, June 3, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. Dr. Doyle Sager will conduct the Graveside Service.
