Walter L. Paxton, 86, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2000. He is survived by two sons, Hal and Raymond Paxton; daughters, Patricia Paxton and Debra Honeycutt; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Thurman, Dorothy King, Betty Curr, Margaret Stewart, and Elizabeth Huber; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial service was held May 5, 2000. Walt retired from Sandia Base. He was a member and past master of Mesa Masonic Lodge #68, Scottish Rite, and Ballut Abyad Shrine. Walt was a longtime member of the Ballut Abyad Shrine Patrol. Oakey's North Chapel, in Roanoke, VA, was in charge of the Memorial service.
