Edythe (Eddye) Katz Goodman, born May 30, 1908 in Brooklyn, New York, died May 22, 2000, while residing at Manzano Del Sol in Albuquerque. She expressed a deep affection for her son-in-law, Dr. David Landau and her devoted companion, Glenda Barnett. Eddye grew up in New York City, completing her schooling there. She earned her Bachelor's degree from City College of New York in 1933. She worked for various agencies of the state and was employed by the Bronx County Court for 40 years. The last 15 of these years, she spent as the Court Clerk of the Surrogates Court in the Bronx. She retired in 1970 and moved with her husband to a new retirement community in St. Petersburg, Florida. After her husband's death in 1974, she remained in St. Petersburg until 1999 when she moved to Albuquerque where her daughter resides. Eddye was a bright, loquacious woman with a fascination for stocks and the stock market. She also took great delight in making and collecting costume jewelry. She was kind, generous, and gentle. Her gracious warmth extended to her family and her friends both old and new. Her soft, loving ways still will be missed by those she touched.
