Estelle Chaves, age 71, of Santa Fe, formerly of San Francisco, CA, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2000. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Nancy Ryan, Emily Mehelich, and Nellie Gallegos. Estelle was born in Los Angeles, CA, to the late Carlos C. and Juanita Chavez. She was an artist. She is survived by her brothers, Charlie Chaves and wife, Lucy and Ubaldo Chaves and wife, Monica; and numerous other relatives and friends. A Memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, May 6,2 000, 10:00 a.m., at St. Anthony's Church in Torreon.
