Obituary for Aragon

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Thursday May 04, 2000

The battle over, the victory won. Cancer has claimed the life of Louie Aragon, but it did not claim his spirit, his faith, nor his love. His mission is over here on earth, his new mission begins with God. Born to this life September 25, 1925 to Cosme and Juanita Aragon, he now was born to his eternal life with God on May 2, 2000, Feast of St. Peregrine, Patron of Cancer. His survivors, until one day we will all one again be together, are his wife, Marcella Aragon; daughter, Marcy Marquez and husband, Don; cherished granddaughters, Jacqueline Patton and husband, Robert, Brandy Marquez; and his most loved treasures, great-grandchildren, Bryon and Emily Patton. Also surviving are his sisters, Adelina Montoya of Los Angeles, Rosella Turrietta of Albuquerque, Carmen Madrid of Albuquerque; his brothers, Max Aragon of Albuquerque and Joe Aragon of Los Angeles; cousin, Millie Saiz of Santa Fe; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Dear God The time is here, time for me to let go, But there are some things I think you should know, This man called"my dad", you are now calling home will live on forever in the hearts he has known. Thank you dear Lord for my father so dear, Thank you so much for putting him here. There are different ways we could tell of his life. From me his, own daughter, to my mom, his wife. But there is no way I can begin to measure this wonderful man, this wonderful treasure. He taught me so much, how to fish and be strong, and how to admit that it's all right to be wrong. I'd tag along by this man called my hero I wasn't yet ready to let his hand go. We all think our parents are one of a kind, And maybe they are, but they're hard to find. My dad, my teacher, my strength, and my friend was so unique all the way to the end. He rarely complained, didn't like to fuss, he just meant so much to each one of us. You should've heard his incredible stories of how wonderful his life was, with none of the worries. He taught me about You, Lord, and the importance of church how much You gave given without having to search. "You'll find all you need" he always would say, "If God you trust, and continue to pray." Thank You God for the father you gave, Thank You God for the times he was brave. His kindness and patience will never compare to his remarkable wisdom with all he did share. We shouldn't take for granted the people we love, because sooner or later they're called from above. And when that time comes, we then realize, how important they were, when they're gone from our eyes. He is loved by his family and always will be his memory will live through eternity. Thank You for my wonderful dad. Thank You for the time that we had. He's one of a kind and there can't be no other. He was the perfect person to be called "my father." He was special to me and all those he met, his presence, oh Lord, we'll never forget. There aren't enough words to describe what he meant, or how his life and his time on this earth was spent. I'll always remember the fun that we had. Teaching me things, he rarely got mad. Teaching me so much about life and how precious it is, this is one of the things I know I will miss. Sitting with you when fishing we'd go, just me and my dad, how the time would just flow. Take me with you, don't leave me here. I want to be with you, always be near! Daddy wait for me when my time is done and until that day, you'll never be gone. You'll always be close to my heart, never in my life will your memory part. And even though I shed a million tears, thinking of you takes away my fears. It's not good-bye, dad, it's we'll see you again, now your new life in Heaven with God does begin...
