Obituary for Armijo

Lupe G. Armijo, 88, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, May 1, 2000. She is survived by her daughters, Martha A. Swink and husband, Marvin of Anchorage, AK, Priscilla Palmisano and husband, Leon, Charlene Knipfing and husband, Dick and Joann Barabe and husband, Paul, all of Albuquerque; grandsons, Marvin Swink II and wife, Chris of Anchorage, AK, Steve Palmisano of Jacksonville, FL, Trey Knipfing and wife, Annette and Jon-Paul Barabe, all of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Michele S. Donah and husband, Mike of North Bend, WA, Sandi Worsham and husband, Jerry of Phoenix, AZ, Leanne Palmisano of Denver, CO, Jennifer Hanson and husband, Scott of Seattle, WA, Kristina Johnson and husband, Paul of Albuquerque and Melissa Pacheco and husband, Christopher of Rio Rancho; ten great-grandchildren, Marc, Mackenzie, Donald, Shannon, Jerry III, Tyler, Sarah, Ashley, Jack and Maggie; sister, Gertrude Johnson of Tucson, AZ; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Armijo was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Armijo. She was a lifelong Catholic, recently attending Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She was a member of the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Armijo was a loving, kind, sweet and gentle person who will be greatly missed. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Father Francis X. Eggert reciting. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Pl. SE, with Archbishop Michael J. Sheehan, Celebrant, and Father Normand Falardeau, S.S.S., Concelebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Armijo's grandsons. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Armijo's name, to the Archbishops School Fund, 4000 St. Joseph's Pl. NW, 87120. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
