Obituary for Springer

Irene T. Springer, 79, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, from a Pioneering Old Town Family, died Tuesday, February 15, 2000. She is survived by her sister, Odelia S. Beach and husband, Arthur G.; sister-in-law, Flora Springer; niece, Phyllis Gonzales and husband, Tim; nephew, Manuel Springer; grandnieces, Stephanie Gonzales and husband, Leonard and Christine Gonzales; grandnephew, Leonard Gonzales and Victoria Martinez; special cousins, Vita Garcia and Thelma Martinez; special friends, Caroline Beach and Easter Flynn, all of Albuquerque; and many other special friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Climaco and Juanita Springer; and brother, Manuel Springer Sr. Irene was a very special caregiver, having cared for her mother and volunteered at local hospitals and nursing homes. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Friday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University NE, with Deacon Jim Baca reciting. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas NE, with Father Francis X. Eggert, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Edward Garcia, Leonard Gonzales, Leonard Sedillo, Stephanie Gonzales, Christine Gonzales and Victoria Martinez."Death is not extinguishing the light; it is putting out the lamp because the dawn has come."
