Obituary for Pendleton

George Edwin"Ladd" Pendleton Sr., 82, of Reserve, NM, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2000 from injuries received in an auto accident in Mexico. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be conducted at Gray Ranch Headquarters, 36 miles south of Animas, NM, 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2000 with Brother Bill Trafton and Brother Ben Johnson officiating. Mr. Pendleton was born August 13, 1917 in Douglas, AZ. He was the son of Tom Pendleton and Eva Bass Pendleton-Henderson. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Gray-Pendleton of Silver City; his son, George Pendleton Jr. of Tucumcari; his daughters, Jewell Eva Gardner and her husband, Jeremy of El Paso, TX, Betty Sue MacKenzie of Tucson, AZ; and his daughter-in-law, Judy Pendleton of Mesa, AZ; his grandchildren, Kas Kemp and her husband, Guido, Lynn Bagwell and her husband, Eddie, Steve Pendleton, Travis Pendleton, Missy Udall and her husband, Sterling, and Jean Marie Gardner; his great-grandchildren, Madeline and Meredith Kemp, Hayden, Samuel and Sadie Udall; and one niece, Dianne Hervey-Rudy. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Hazel Hervey; and one son, Tom M. Pendleton. Mr. Pendleton was killed instantly in an automobile accident near Santa Ana, Mexico when the motorhome he was driving lost a front wheel causing the loss of control. He was pursuing his dream--traveling in his beloved country of Mexico. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital, c/o Mr. Bill Frasier, Treasurer, Box 8, Bayard, NM 88023.
