Obituary for Loken

Ralph E. Loken, age 89, a lifetime resident, died Saturday. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha in 1988. Survivors include daughter, Harriet Gerding and and husband, Bob of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Laura Morris and husband, Flint of Albuquerque; grandsons, Michael Gerding of Denver, CO, Patrick Gerding of Seattle, WA; great-grandson, J.T. Morris, freshman at Vanderbilt University; great-granddaughter, Melanie Morris of Albuquerque; brother, Arnold Loken and wife, Beth of Denver, CO. Mr. Loken was a retired executive of the Public Service Company of New Mexico, former Albuquerque City Commissioner, Chairman of the Environmental Planning Commission, recipient of the New Mexico Distinguished Public Service Award, and Senior Citizens Hall of Fame from the Senior Foundation 1996. As everyone knows, Ralph supported many, many charities. In lieu of flowers, please support the charity of your choice. Mr. Loken will lie in state Tuesday, 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, at the funeral home. Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday at St. John's Episcopal Cathedral, 318 Silver SE. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery with William Keleher, Chris Barker, Keith Barker, Breck Glascock, John Ackerman, John Bundrant, Rocke Loken, Greg Loken serving as casketbearers. Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE, are in charge of arrangements.
