Gabriel V. Ponce, 78, born in Silver City, NM, and residing in Los Lunas died May 26, 2000 in Albuquerque. He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Esperanza Arizaga. He is survived by his loving wife, Ramona; his loving children, Margaret Reed, Richard Ponce, and Mary Frances Bennett; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; countless nieces and nephews; four sisters, Angela, Cristina, Genoveva and Bertha. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2000 in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE. Pallbearers will be Gabriel Ponce, Nathan Reed, David Arizaga, Jr., Ray Gonzales, Joseph Arizaga, Roberto Terrazas and Richard Ponce (Lead). Interment will follow in Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE, in charge of arrangements.
