Obituary for Pineda

Tom G. Pineda, 76, an Albuquerque resident since 1957, died Monday, April 24, 2000. He is survived by his son, Raymond Pineda and wife, Margaret; daughter, Mary Ann Coalson and husband Timothy, all of Albuquerque; grandsons, Anthony Pineda and wife, Sara of Cedar Grove, NM, Michael Pineda, and wife, Tracy, of Los Lunas; brothers, Ladislao Pineda and wife, Devon of Trinidad, CO, Gilbert Pineda and wife, Helen of Fresno, CA; several nieces, nephews, friends including his special friends at the Village at Alameda where he resided. His wife, Carmen F. Pineda, preceded him in death in 1997. Mr. Pineda was a barber at the NCO Club for 40 years and had served as manager of several of the barbershops at Kirtland AFB. Tom developed many relationships with patrons who came to his shops, and he never met a stranger. He worked as a volunteer over the years by giving free haircuts at the VA Hospital and other hospitals and most recently he served as a volunteer leading social activities at the Village at Alameda. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd, NE with Sophie Gurule, reciting. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2000, at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Lomas and Tennessee with Father Luis Jaramillo, celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Pineda, Anthony Pineda, Rudy Fourzan, Larry Bernal, Porspero Sedillo and Frank Melton. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd, NE, Thursday, April 27, 2000 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
