Obituary for Burge

Roy Elbert Burge, a resident of Albuquerque since 1952, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2000. He was born November 25, 1916 in Denver, CO. He is survived by his wife, Jane of 57 years; son, Gary D. Burge, DVM and wife, Christine, of Ft. Collins, CO; daughter, Linda Mills of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Lisa Mills and Katherine Burge; grandsons, Kevin Mills, Chris Mills and Peter Burge; and sister, Edith Marcussen, of Santa Clara, CA. Roy fought for the US Army Corps as a pilot during the second World War. He was also a sales representative for Autrey Bros./Jostens for 36 years. He held a strength and a passion for life and his family that he has instilled in all who knew him. Although he was ready"to go home", he will be dearly missed. Services will be held September 19, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. at French Mortuary, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW, 87114, with Wayne Gayton, officiating. A reception will immediately follow. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 9300 Golf Course Road NW, on Monday, September 18, 2000 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Presbyterian Hospice, 8300 Constitution NE, 87110.
