Obituary for Tracey

Emma Manuelito Tracey, 76, of the By The Water Clan, born on the Navajo Reservation in 1924 and a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, died unexpectedly Thursday, September 14, 2000. he is survived by her husband of 50 years, Leo Tracey, Sr.; daughters, Norma Chackee and husband, Ray of Los Lunas and Margaret Haskew of Albuquerque; sons, Leo Tracey Jr., Norman Tracey, and Sampson Tracey, all of Albuquerque; sisters, Ruth Destea and Lucille Begay of Tohatchi, NM and Alice Francisco of Window Rock, AZ; brothers, Henry Plummer of Jones Ranch, NM, Tony Plummer of Tohatchi, NM, and Richard Plummer of North Carolina; grandchildren, Everett Chackee of Los Lunas and Gwen Chackee, Mike Chackee and Tracie L. Haskew, all of Albuquerque; two great-grandchildren, Chad Chavez and Cheyenne Chavez, both of Albuquerque; sisters, Mary Silversmith and Lillian Holyan, both of Tohatchi, NM; brothers, Johnny Holyan and Monte Holyan, both of Tohatchi, NM and Donald Holyan of Shiprock; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Irene Tracey; her mother, Annie Holyan; step-father, Tom Holyan; sister, Alice Hardy; and grandparents who raised her, Bob and Jos-Bah Manuelito. Mrs. Tracey was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who loved to cook and was always concerned about her family. Mrs. Tracey will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Services will be held Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Leonard McReeves, Leo Tracey, Jr., Sampson Tracey, Everett Chackee, Mike Chackee, Watson Castillo and Gilbert Yazzie. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Holyan, Mike Holyan, Donald Holyan, and Ray Chackee. A donation meeting for Emma Manuelito Tracey will be held Monday, September 18, 2000 at 6:00 p.m., at the Tohatchi Chapter House. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Monday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
