Obituary for Duran

Carlos Leo Duran, 67, a resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, February 11, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Sostena Duran of the family home; children, Carlos Duran and wife, Denise, Leo Duran and fiance, Terry Leal, Rennee Duran and husband, Charles Ortiz and Andrew Duran and wife, Joann; grandchildren, Carlos, Diego, Lisa, Catalina, Sacheena and Marianita; sister, Bertha Estrada; and many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Margarito and Flora Barnum Duran. Carlos taught at APS and retired after 30 years of service, touching many lives in the South Valley. He served in the United States Air Force for four years. Carlos also had a great sense of humor and loved fishing. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 10:00 a.m. at Santuario de San Martin, 8321 Camino San Martin SW, with Father Dan Farris, Celebrant. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Salazar, Jessie Harrison, Phil Candelaria, Castulo Trujillo, Samuel Estrada, Steve Herrera, and Salomon Ulibarri. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
