Obituary for Kirkpatrick

Eloise C. Kirkpatrick, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1961, died Tuesday, February 1, 2000. She is survived by her cousin, Nancy White and husband, Michael; four daughters, Jackie and Rebecca, all of Vernal, UT. Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, R.W. Kirkpatrick in 1955. She was born in Los Angeles, CA on October 29, 1917. Eloise moved to Ponca City, OK in 1925. She was a graduate of Ponca City High School, class of 1936. Eloise married R.W. Kirkpatrick in October of 1937. She graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics, majoring in Elementary Education; she worked on her Master's degree in 1956. Eloise taught in Tuba City, AZ with the Bureau of Indian Affairs 1956-1958. She moved to Albuquerque in 1961 to teach, she taught first and second grades at Navajo and Matheson Park Elementary Schools. Eloise loved children, animals and birds. During her 30 years as a teacher, her greatest joy was seeing a child's success in using what he learned to grow and expand. During her retirement, she traveled abroad and was an avid bridge player. She will be missed by many friends. Private Memorial Services were held in Vernal, Utah. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE
