Carole A. Provoost, loving wife and mother, 61, a resident of Albuquerque for 37 years, died Tuesday, March 21, 2000. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, George Provoost of the family home; son, Wes Provoost and girlfriend, Denise Rivera of Albuquerque; step-son, Jacob Provoost and wife, Peggy of Geneva, NY; step-granddaughter, Tya Provoost of Fullerton, CA; step-grandson, Jason Sapp of Rushville, NY; granddaughter, Caitlin Provoost of Albuquerque; niece, Charlotte A. Mattoon of Decatur, TX; sister, Eleanor Tavalsky and husband, Ed of Jamestown, NY; brothers, Fred Mattoon and wife, Ruby of Phelps, NY and Richard Mattoon of Honeoye, NY; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Mrs. Provoost was preceded in death by her sister, Sylvia Johnson. She was a 1956 graduate of Phelps Central High School in Phelps, NY. Mrs. Provoost was a business partner with the Provoost Construction and was a qualified contractor with the State of New Mexico. She shared her life with her animals, flowers, enjoyed the great outdoors, and she loved her home. Mrs. Provoost was a longtime member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona SE, with Monsignor Fred Stadtmueller, Celebrant. Cremation will follow services.
