Obituary for Jahraus

Stella Jahraus, 95, of Farmington, passed away March 21, 2000 at the Life Care Center of Farmington, the last survivor of her parents and siblings. She was born August 19, 1904 in Madelia, Minnesota, the 13th of 14 children born to Peder and Petra Winden. She was raised and educated in the Fargo-Morehead area. On January 9, 1927, she married Ernest Jahraus, and in 1929 they moved to Albuquerque where they made their home for 47 years. In 1976, they moved to Farmington to be close to their daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest in 1992. Stella is survived by her daughters, Delores Quist and husband, Dale, Pauline Hancock; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 25, at the First Presbyterian Church, 865 N. Dustin Ave., with Dr. Frank Hayes officiating. Funeral arrangements are with Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St., in Farmington, 325-8688.
