Obituary for Murdoch

John Murdoch Jr., 44, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past five years, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2000. John was born December 20, 1955 in Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo, Brazil, the son of John and Elizabeth Murdoch Sr. He was a manager of a casino. John was preceded in death by his mother, He is survived by his wife, Lori of Rio Rancho; his father, John Murdoch Sr. of Cantinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil; one brother, Tom Murdoch and wife, Cathy of Derby, KS; one sister, Kathy Valdez and husband, Dave of Orlando, FL; several nieces and nephews; and many, many loving friends and two special"friends", his dogs, Cocoa and Pellie. John and Lori were newly married on March 25, 2000. They had the best year of both their lives together. John was very giving to family and friends. He always wanted to help everyone and always made himself available to anyone. Friends often called John for advice on many issues. John also spent much of his time working on ways to improve the casino at which he worked. The visitation for John will be today, Thursday, May 11, 2000, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd., at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The service will be Friday, May 12, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary with Michael Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Peter Campbell, John Valdez, Paul Ortiz, Dave Valdez, Nick Carroll, and Mike Salazar. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary, Rio Rancho, 892-9920.
