Obituary for Strain

Dr. Dudley Strain, 90, a ten year resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000. He is survived by his daughter, Ann Meriney of Albuquerque; son, Keith Strain and wife, Betsy of Ada, OK; grandchildren, Trey Hoffman of Dallas, TX, Tiffany Turetzky and husband, David of New York, NY, and John D. Strain of Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Strain on November 19, 1998. Dr. Strain was a graduate of Yale Divinity School, Butler University, and Texas Christian University. He pastored for 50+ years in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Independance, IN, Salem, OR, and two churches in Lubbock. He was also the author of three books. Dr. Strain was the driving force in the founding of Contact Lubbock, and the International Cultural Center at Texas Tech. He retired in 1990 at the age of 80 and chose to move to Albuquerque to be close to his daughter. Dr. Strain was a member of Monte Vista Christian Church of Albuquerque. Memorial services will be held Friday, May 12, 2000, 11:00 a.m., at Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd. NE, with Rev. Fred Dorisse and Rev. Keith D. Strain officiating. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE, Thursday, May 11, 2000, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Presbyterian Kaseman Hospice Inpatient Unit, Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, P.O.
