Obituary for Zimmerman

Burl Zimmerman, age 92, of Clinton, Tennessee, formerly of Tullahoma, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2000 at Fort Sanders Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church of Clinton, member of Clinton Lions Club, and also a Mason. Burl graduated from Kansas State University with a B.S. & M.S. degrees in Architectural Engineering and was also a member of Phi Kappa Phi. He retired from the United States Navy Reserves as a Captain. He was an avid photographer and woodworker. Born March 10, 1908 in Worth, Missouri. Preceded in death by wife, Vandetta Pierce Zimmerman; parents, George W. and Abbiegail Adkins Zimmerman. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Alan B. and Cherry Zimmerman of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Samuel A. Zimmerman, Megan M. Zimmerman, Daniel A. Zimmerman, all of Herndon, VA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Wilma and Jerry Hattox of Albuquerque; and nieces, Kerri Small and Linda Toppert of Albuquerque. The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 3, 2000, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, Tennessee, with Funeral service following at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Don Thomas officiating. Interment will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 4, 2000, at Sunset Cemetery in Clinton, Tennessee. Memorials may be made to Lions Volunteer Blind Industry, 758 W.
