Christopher (Chris) Scott Pettit, 19, of Rio Rancho died Sunday, July 23, 2000, as a result of an accident at Elephant Butte Lake near Truth or Consequences. He was born February 23, 1981 in Farmington to Jeff S. Pettit and Desirae (Dez) Pettit. Chris was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he loved playing the guitar, creating web sites, exotic cars, working out, and extreme sports. He is survived by his parents; four brothers, Anthony, Shawn, Matt and Austin Pettit, and a sister Lindy Pettit, all of Rio Rancho; his girlfriend, Dana Krill; his grandparents, Medford and Ann Pettit of Deming, and Catherine and Thomas Bond of Kirtland; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him dearly. He will be missed by all. There has a been a Christopher S. Pettit Memorial Fund set up at First Security Bank in Rio Rancho for donations in lieu of flowers.
