Dolores E. Johnston, 63, a resident of Albuquerque for 38 years, died Friday, July 28, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Melvin G. Johnston; son, Michael S. Johnston of Norfolk, VA; daughter, Michelle S. Johnston of Mill Valley, CA; stepsons, Lyndon and Jeffrey T. Johnston; granddaughter, Angel Ann Johnston of Norfolk, VA; mother, Zella Leonard; sisters, Louise Leonard and Margaret Sabo and husband, William, all of Albuquerque; and nieces, Judy Gerald and husband, Lanny and Bonnie Denham and husband, Dana. Mrs. Johnston was active in the Girl Scouts at both the National level and with the Chaparral Girl Scout Council. She was a longtime member of the Kiwanis Club of Albuquerque and a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. Services will be Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9100 Menaul NE, with Rev. Harold T. Nilsson officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Luke Building Fund, 9100 Menaul NE 87112 or Chaparral Girl Scout Council Scholarship Fund, 4000 Jefferson NE 87109 or to the Kiwanis Club of Albuquerque Scholarship Fund, 1434 San Carlos Dr. SW 87104.
