Obituary for Schramm

Leonard Darrell Schramm, died March 30, 2000, at his son's home in Edgewood. He was born on January 23, 1918 the son of Jenny and Fred and birth mother, Madeline Drummond. Father of Carolyn Bruzewski, Kenneth Schramm and his wife, Betty, Douglas Schramm and his wife, Constance Roy, Lorinda Schramm, Melissa Tivvis and Timothy Schramm; grandfather of Cindy, Greg, Darrol, Karen, Cheryl, Steven, Kimberly, Curtis and Leslie; great-grandfather of Ben, Holly, Ian, Valerie, Bethanie, Kayleigh and Jacob. He was preceded in death by wives, Grace Reviere and Lillian Matthews and his brother, Robert. Mr. Schramm started out as cop in Bay City Michigan and had a radio program called"Sgt. Safety". During WWII he served as a sharpshooter instructor and an MP. Mr. Schramm went on the Michigan Turnpike Association then Blue Cross & Blue Shield. In 1964 starting working at the White House on the Equal Opportunities in Housing Commission as a coordinator for national conferences. He became a compliance investigator for discrimination at HUD. Mr. Schramm retired to Albuquerque in 1984. Services will be held, Tuesday, 12:30 p.m. at Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 11:00 a.m. till service time. The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Alzheimers Association, 1330 San Pedro NE, Suite 205, 87110. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
