Obituary for Gunderson

Rolland Michael Gunderson, age 45, passed away in Auburn, California on March 17, 2000. He was born March 23, 1954, a native of Albuquerque and longtime resident of Alaska. He attended Valley High School, served in the U.S. Air Force, and was a Civil Service Supervisor in Alaska for 28 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #11, Moose and Elks Lodges. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and will be missed by his many friends in Alaska and New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rolland and Hazel; and sister, Edwina Sue Howard. He is survived by his wife, Marie; and daughter, Racheal, both of Alaska; his sisters, Wanda E. Tedford of Animas, NM, Nina M. Lewis of Beaverton, OR, Lori Gunderson of Albuquerque, Sally Mestas of Albuquerque and Polly Cox of Los Lunas; and his brother, Pete Evans of N. San Juan, CA; and his many, many nieces and nephews. Officiating will be his beloved nephew/brother at heart, Patrick A. Tedford. Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 3, 2000, 1:00 p.m., at the Veterans National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM, with the Veterans Honor Guard.
